Many of our materials come with or can have certain finishes applied to them to suit your upholstery requirements. From purchasing some of our ‘Forbid’ or ‘Crib 5’ vinyl’s to requesting our perforation or lamination service to be applied to any of our materials. Carry on reading to find out about all of the different finishes we offer:
A perforated material is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a sheet of material which has a pattern of small holes cut through it. The maximum width the material can be is 160cm and the service is done by the metre. The majority of our materials can be perforated at your request including leather hides. We currently offer 8 different types of perforation services which vary depending on the hole spacing and shape of the holes (square or circle). Alternatively, our Alcantara can be supplied with a special type of perforation which includes a black or silver backing. Lamination (Foam Backing):
At Boyriven, along with all our materials we also sell a variety of foams including scrim foam. It is very popular for upholsterers to purchase our scrim foam and foam back our materials themselves. Alternatively, we can also laminate any of our materials for you upon request with a range of foam thicknesses of up to 12mm. Typically this service has about a 2-week lead time.
Forbid & Crib 5:
Unlike the other two, we can’t apply a Forbid/Crib 5 finish to any of our materials. With that being said, many of our materials are manufactured to be Crib 5 allowing us to meet all of your Contract Upholstery requirements. Additionally, a lot of our Enduratex products come with a ‘Forbid’ finish which is a topcoat dramatically increasing stain resistance whilst still preserving the integrity of the materials lustre and softness.
A lot of our vinyl’s tend to have some stretch to them, however some of our products are manufactured to be deliberately stretchy. For example, our Velour Stretch Sidelining range is extremely ideal for stretching around corners and being used as a sidelining. Furthermore, going into February 2020, Boyriven are proud to announce that we will be releasing a new Suede stretch fabric which will also be available foam backed.
Boyriven has always specialised in providing premium quality materials such as Alcantara. Going into 2020 we are proud to announce our partnership with Alcantara and that we have become the sole supplier of Alcantara within the UK.more
